From Victorian bays in Moseley and Kings Heath to apartments in the Jewellery Quarter, we measure, make and fit blinds, shutters and curtains for every kind of Birmingham home.
Birmingham’s housing covers almost every era, from Victorian terraces to brand-new apartment blocks, and each one brings its own kind of window. A bay in a Kings Heath terrace, a floor-to-ceiling pane in a Jewellery Quarter flat and a uPVC casement in a Hall Green semi each need a different answer. With 20 years of fitting blinds, shutters and curtains across the city, we’ll give you honest advice on what will work in your rooms, and we bring the samples so you can see it for yourself.
Moseley, Kings Heath, Harborne and Selly Oak are full of late Victorian and Edwardian terraces. Most have a bay window at the front, usually three-sided, with taller, narrower windows upstairs. Bays are lovely to dress, but they’re also where ready-made blinds let you down: each pane is a slightly different width, and the angles are rarely identical from one house to the next.
Full-height shutters are a favourite for these front rooms. Each panel is made for its own pane, and you can tilt the louvres to let light in while stopping passers-by seeing straight into the room. If you’d like the top of the window open to the sky and the bottom closed, tier-on-tier shutters give you two sections that open separately. You’ll find both, along with café-style shutters, on our shutters page.
If you’d prefer something softer, a Roman blind on each pane of the bay keeps a tailored, period feel, and pairs well with curtains on a track that bends to follow the bay.
Plenty of Selly Oak’s terraces are let to students, close to the university. If you’re a landlord, our page for landlords and letting agents covers hard-wearing options that cope with a change of tenants.
Edgbaston’s Victorian villas and other large period houses tend to have high ceilings and tall windows. Proportions like these suit full-height shutters or full-length curtains, both made to your exact drop. We take our time measuring here, because older walls and window openings are rarely perfectly square, and a few millimetres matter when a shutter frame has to sit neatly in the reveal.
City-centre living often means big glass, sometimes floor to ceiling, with neighbours across the street who can see in. In the Jewellery Quarter, converted workshops and factory buildings add tall or arched windows and deep reveals to the mix.
Further out, in Hall Green, Kings Norton, Northfield and parts of Erdington, much of the housing is semi-detached, built between the wars and in the decades after. Many have a bay at the front, and plenty now have replacement uPVC windows throughout.
That uPVC is where Perfect Fit blinds come into their own. They sit within the frame itself, held in place without screws or drilling, stay close to the glass and move with the window when you open it, which is especially handy in kitchens and bedrooms with tilt-and-turn windows. For the bay itself, the same choices apply as in an older terrace: shutters, Roman blinds or curtains, or a combination of them.
Wherever you are in the city, from a top-floor flat near the Jewellery Quarter to a semi in Northfield, booking works the same way. Ring or WhatsApp 07902 945533, or fill in our quote form, and we’ll call you back within 24 hours to fix a time, any day of the week. On the day, a fitter measures each window, brings fabric and shutter samples to hold up against your own décor, and talks you through the options room by room. There’s no charge for the measure or the quote and no obligation to go ahead, and fitting is included in your quote.

Questions
Yes. We cover the whole city, from the centre and the Jewellery Quarter to Erdington in the north and Northfield and Kings Norton in the south. Appointments are available 7 days a week, at a time that suits you.
Yes. Bays in Birmingham's Victorian terraces and interwar semis are often angled, and we make each shutter panel to fit its own pane so the whole bay looks even. If your bay is curved, we'll look at it during the visit and suggest the best option, which might be shutters, a blind on each pane or a curtain track that follows the curve.
Yes. If your building has rules about how windows look from outside, such as a set colour for blinds, let us know when you book and we'll bring suitable samples to your visit.
