Made-to-measure curtains
The right pole or track helps curtains hang well and draw easily. We supply and fit both, including tracks shaped to follow your bay window.
We choose a pole or track to suit your curtains and fit it ourselves, so you're not left trying to match brackets, rings and gliders.
Bay tracks are bent to follow the angles or curve of your window, so curtains can glide right round without catching.
We pick fixings to suit your walls and space the brackets so that long, heavy curtains won't make a pole bow in the middle.
Wooden and metal poles in a range of finishes and finials, or slim, discreet tracks that let the curtains do the talking.
A curtain can only hang as well as the thing that holds it up. A pole that stops short of the frame, a track that judders, or a bracket working loose from old plaster will spoil even the loveliest fabric. We supply and fit curtain poles and tracks across Birmingham and the West Midlands, whether you’re ordering new curtains from us or replacing a pole that has seen better days.
Getting the hardware right is mostly about matching it to the curtain, the window and the wall. That’s why we look at all three when we measure, rather than picking a pole from a catalogue and hoping for the best.
Both do the same basic job, but they look and behave differently.
| Curtain pole | Curtain track | |
|---|---|---|
| The look | A feature in its own right, with rings and finials on show | Slim and discreet, usually hidden behind the heading |
| Headings | Eyelet, pencil pleat, pinch pleat on rings | Pencil pleat, pinch pleat, wave |
| Bay windows | Possible on some bays | Can be shaped to follow the bay |
| Fixing | Wall-fixed | Wall or ceiling-fixed |
A pole suits rooms where you want the hardware to show. A turned wooden pole looks at home in a cottage-style bedroom, while a slim metal pole in brushed brass or matt black suits a modern living room. A track is the practical choice for bays, ceiling fixing and heavy curtains, and wave headings need a track or a pole designed for them. If you’re having new made-to-measure curtains, we’ll recommend the hardware that suits your chosen heading.
Bay windows are a feature of many Victorian and Edwardian terraces and 1930s semis across the region, and they can be awkward to dress. A straight pole across the front of the bay is possible, but it leaves the bay itself bare. A bay track is shaped to follow the angles or curve of the window, so your curtains can sit inside the bay and draw right round it.
We measure every angle and every section carefully, because a track that doesn’t follow the bay closely leaves curtains snagging at the bends. If you’re weighing up curtains against blinds or shutters for a bay, our guide on how to dress a bay window covers the pros and cons of each.
Where the pole or track goes makes a surprising difference to how the window looks.
For very wide or tall windows where drawing curtains by hand is a stretch, an electric curtain track might be the better choice.
Good poles and tracks are easy to overlook until they go wrong. With 20 years of fitting curtains, blinds and shutters, our team knows how to fix them so they stay put, in old houses and new builds alike.

Ask us. We mainly supply and fit our own poles and tracks, but if you've already bought one, mention it when you get in touch and we'll let you know whether we can fit it for you.
Often, yes, as long as the heading suits it. Pencil pleat curtains hang happily from most tracks, while eyelet curtains need a pole. Show us your curtains at the home visit and we'll recommend the right fit.
Yes. Ceiling-fixed tracks are useful where there's very little space between the top of the window and the ceiling. We'll check that the ceiling can take the fixings safely before we recommend it.
Yes. A double pole or double track carries a voile at the back and your main curtains in front, so each can be drawn independently.
