Electric curtains with a remote control in a modern living room
  • Remote control

Open your curtains, close them or stop them part-way from wherever you're sitting.

  • No more stretching

Windows above a staircase, behind a sofa or high up a wall become as easy to use as any other.

  • Kinder to your curtains

With nobody tugging at the fabric, curtains stay neater and the leading edges stay cleaner for longer.

  • Track and curtains matched

We make the curtains and fit the track together, so the heading, weight and track all work as one.

  • App and smart-home control

Ask us about app and smart-home control when we visit, and we'll talk you through it.

Some windows are a pleasure to look at and a nuisance to live with. A wall of floor-to-ceiling glass, a tall window above the stairs, a pair of wide doors behind the dining table: drawing curtains by hand on windows like these is a stretch, or simply a chore. Electric curtain tracks take the effort away. Press a button on the remote and your curtains glide open or closed.

We supply the track, make the curtains to go with it and fit everything ourselves. That matters, because an electric track works best when the curtains are made for it, with the right heading, weight and fullness for the motor to move them evenly.

Where an electric track makes sense

Electric tracks earn their place on windows that are awkward to reach or heavy to draw.

  • Tall windows. In rooms with high ceilings or double-height glazing, the top of the curtain can be well out of reach. An electric track draws the whole drop evenly, every time.
  • Wide windows and doors. A long run of lined fabric across bifold or patio doors is heavy to pull. The motor does the work, so the curtains move smoothly without being yanked.
  • Hard-to-reach windows. Windows behind a sofa, a bed or a run of kitchen units, or above a staircase or landing, become easy to open and close.
  • Heavy curtains. Full-length curtains with blackout or thermal linings can be weighty. Letting a motor draw them saves both you and the fabric.

To be honest, for an ordinary window you can reach easily, a well-fitted manual track from our curtain poles and tracks range does the job perfectly well. We’ll always suggest the simpler option where it makes more sense.

Choosing curtains for an electric track

The curtains matter as much as the motor. Wave headings are a natural fit: they form even, rippling folds and stack back neatly at the sides when open. Pinch pleats work well too if you’d prefer a more tailored look.

Our made-to-measure curtains can be lined to suit the room. A blackout lining helps in bedrooms, and a thermal lining can help reduce heat loss through glass in rooms with large windows. We’ll bring fabric samples to your home visit, so you can choose with the track and the window in front of you.

Planning the power supply

Your track is operated by remote control, and the motor that drives it sits at one end of the track and needs a power supply nearby. At the home visit we’ll look at where the motor will go and where the power will come from. If there isn’t a socket in the right place, we’ll explain your options before you commit to anything.

If you’re planning building work or redecorating, get in touch early. That way the power supply can be planned in before the walls are finished, rather than worked around afterwards.

How it works

  1. Start with a call or message. Ring or WhatsApp 07902 945533, or request a quote online. We’ll call you back within 24 hours.
  2. A visit to plan it properly. We measure the window, work out where the motor and power will go and bring curtain fabrics to choose from. The quote is free, with no obligation.
  3. Made for your window. Your track and curtains are made to the measurements we took.
  4. Fitted and set up. We fit the track, hang the curtains, check they open and close fully and show you how to use the remote. Fitting is included in your quote.

Electric tracks are one of those upgrades that quickly feel essential, especially on the windows you used to dread drawing. Our team has 20 years of experience fitting curtains, blinds and shutters across Birmingham and the West Midlands, and we’ll help you decide whether an electric track is right for your windows. Options

Make it yours

We'll talk you through every option at your free home visit, with samples in hand.

Headings
We'll match the heading to the track. Wave headings are a popular choice for their even, tidy folds, and pinch pleats suit a more tailored look.
Opening style
A centre-opening pair that parts in the middle, or a single curtain that draws to one side.
Fixing
Wall-fixed above the window, or ceiling-fixed for a clean line and curtains that run from ceiling to floor.
Linings
Standard, blackout or thermal linings, so your curtains can be as practical as they are easy to use.

Questions

Electric Curtain Tracks: common questions

Anything else you'd like to know? Call or WhatsApp us on 07902 945533.

Can I use my existing curtains on an electric track?

Sometimes. It depends on the heading and how heavy the curtains are. Show us at your home visit and we'll tell you honestly whether they'll work or whether new curtains would hang better.

Will an electric track look out of place in a period home?

Not at all. The track is slim and usually sits hidden behind the curtain heading, so from the room you mostly see the curtains themselves, just as you would with a manual track.

Should I choose a centre-opening pair or a single curtain?

A pair that parts in the middle suits most windows and keeps the fabric balanced at each side when open. A single curtain drawing to one side works well where a wall, cupboard or door sits close to one edge of the window.

Can I control my curtains from my phone?

Ask us about app and smart-home control when you book your visit. We'll explain what's possible for your home.
