Made-to-measure blinds
Wide fabric panels that glide along a track. A clean, contemporary choice for patio doors, bifolds and big windows, and a smart room divider too.
Wide, flat panels display a print or texture without folds or slats, for a calm and modern look.
Panels slide along the track to one side, or part in the middle, clearing the doorway when you need it.
We work out the number and width of panels so they overlap neatly when closed and stack where they won't get in the way.
Hung from the ceiling, a set of panels can divide an open-plan room and slide back when you want the space open.

Book a free measure in this colourPanel blinds are made from wide, flat lengths of fabric that hang from a track and slide past one another, a little like sliding screens. They’re a simple, modern way to dress a wide stretch of glass, and they show off a fabric in a way few other blinds can: no folds and no slats, just clean panels of colour and texture.
Each set is made to measure for your opening. We work out how many panels you need and how wide each one should be, so they overlap neatly when they’re closed and stack tidily when they’re open.
Panel blinds are built for width. On sliding patio doors, they draw across in one smooth movement and slide back to clear the way to the garden.
On bifold doors they’re especially useful, but they need some planning. The panels have to stack somewhere they won’t clash with the doors once those are folded back. We look at how your doors open, which way they fold and how much wall there is either side, then suggest where the track and the stack should go so the blinds and doors never get in each other’s way.
They also suit floor-to-ceiling windows in extensions and new builds, where a long run of separate roller blinds can look busy. A few wide panels give a calmer, more unified look across a whole wall of glass. Our guide to blinds and shutters for patio and bifold doors compares the main options side by side.
Because the panels slide freely, they work well away from windows too. Hung from the ceiling, a set of panel blinds can separate a dining area from a lounge, hide a home office corner at the end of the working day, or screen off a utility area. When you want the space open again, slide them back and they stack neatly out of sight.
Both suit wide doors and windows, so it’s a fair question. The biggest difference is how they handle light.
| Panel blinds | Vertical blinds | |
|---|---|---|
| Look | Wide, flat panels with a contemporary feel | Narrow vanes with a practical, familiar feel |
| Light control | Slide open or closed | Tilt the vanes to angle light, or draw them back |
| Fabric | Prints and textures shown in full | Fabric split across narrow vanes |
| Best for | A clean, modern finish | Fine-tuning light and privacy through the day |
If you want to angle the light without opening the blind, vertical blinds are the better choice. If you’d like a more solid, furniture-like finish on bifold doors, take a look at our tracked shutters.
Panel blinds aren’t the answer for every window, and we’ll tell you if a different blind would serve you better. But for a big stretch of glass, they give a clean, contemporary finish that’s easy to live with. Drawing on 20 years of fitting blinds in the region, our team will help you plan a set that works for your space and the way you use it.

Yes. They suit wide windows, particularly floor-to-ceiling glazing. On a standard-sized window, though, a roller or Roman blind is usually the neater choice, and we'll say so if we think that's the case.
With a blackout fabric, the panels themselves block light well. Because they hang from a track, a little light can show at the top, bottom and sides, so for a really dark bedroom a blackout roller blind may suit better.
Run a soft brush, or the brush attachment on your vacuum, over the fabric from time to time to keep dust down. For anything more than dust, the right approach varies by fabric, and we'll go through it when you order.
